This new watch is so cool. I'd love to see a more affordable stainless steel version. ...

Looks great!

The dial color in the pictue is really nice and complements the hands and case really well.

I agree.

Man PF is killing it!!!

Steel: The Poor Man's Platinum®

 By: mdg : May 11th, 2024-01:10
Platinum is great, but manufacturers get a huge premium for it over gold. I guess it's tougher to work with, but I think it's a marketing ploy we've all fallen for. I checked today's metal prices. Platinum is $993 per ounce and gold is $2,360 per ounce. A...

Are all brands in cahoots and out to get us??

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2024-01:51
I wonder what is the reason behind the pricing...there has to be a justification for this. Customers are not as clueless like me, lol...

The only reason I've ever heard/read is that platinum is more difficult to work...

 By: mdg : May 11th, 2024-02:30
...resulting in having to use more tools, etc. Don't know if it's true or not. Not sure that justifies doubling the price for a less costly metal...

With today's CNC technology there is no more a significant difference between the various metal types.

 By: jlux : May 11th, 2024-06:51
Despite what the manufactures want us to believe, the case work is predominantly done by a machine.

True, too.

 By: amanico : May 11th, 2024-06:55

Yes, but I've heard that the cutting tools, etc. are more worn with harder metals...

 By: mdg : May 11th, 2024-16:53
...so it's not so much the hand work as the production 'waste.'

What I heard ,too.

A couple of things:

 By: Henke : May 11th, 2024-02:54
1. Case gold is 18k, or 75% by mass; platinum is pt950, or 95% by mass. 2. Cases aren't made to the same mass, they are made to the same volume. Platinum is denser than gold. This means there is approximately 40% more mass of platinum in a pt950 case than...

+1 at least at retail😉

Perhaps the best releases this year?

 By: TeutonicCarFan : May 10th, 2024-20:44
I love the simplicity in design, the dials, cases and straps are spot on. Unsure the movement finishing as I just want to see that pattern in person. I know PF is going above and beyond to use hand finishing, but even so this price seems a bit steep. That...

Oh yeah!👍

I don’t think you’ll see this model in steel.

 By: M4 : May 10th, 2024-21:13
The CEO, Guido Terreni, has announced all new Toric models will be platinum or gold, have manual movements only, and pin buckles to not impede viewing the movement. I’m doubtful there will be deviation from that design direction anytime soon. M4

Hahaha.

;-)

I really love both iterations a lot

 By: Derreck : May 10th, 2024-22:00
They are so cool and chic but sporty and laidback at the same time. It’s also refreshing to see something other than Côtes de Genève as a finishing on the bridges. Yes the price is a bit steep but if I had the means I’d have bought both of them, design wi...

Well said. I like both Pt and gold also.

 By: M4 : May 10th, 2024-23:46
The “celadon grey” dial of the Pt version is certainly an interesting and unconventional color. M4

Beautiful in every way

 By: MiguelFlash : May 11th, 2024-01:29
And I would love to have one in my collection. Fresh looking and classically elegant at the same time. A home run. BUT the price makes no sense to me. At 38k or so it would be a no brainer for those inclined to pick one up. At the current price…I don’t se...

Yes, I would say so!

 By: MiguelFlash : May 11th, 2024-12:27

That's an idea... ;)

 By: amanico : May 11th, 2024-13:13

+1😁

 By: hora12reborn : May 11th, 2024-16:48

Exquisite!

 By: orahu : May 11th, 2024-02:09

Beautiful watches.

 By: jlux : May 11th, 2024-06:54
But some of the most insane prices that I have ever seen on a watch! The secondary market will tell us the truth.

+1 wait and see
